This is the same as our original astronomy image of the day app, but this version has a dark background for those who prefer such.

We recently updated our Android apps!

We recently updated our Android apps and compiled them with the latest 3.2 API!

Our newer app can be found here:

https://market.android.com/details?id=com.tpcs.Astronomy

This new 3.2 API ads a nifty zoom feature that allows the app to adjust its size to your various screen sizes. You may still download this app with older Droid versions, as your device will auto download the appropriate version (1.5 API or 3.2 API) based on your device's abilities.

Thanks,
Dave

An amazing photo to make you think

I am sure you have seen the comparison of electrons orbiting an atom and planets orbiting a star. It is true that nature seems to prefer certain shapes and actions but every now and then an image helps put things into perspective...

I once watched a show on the History channel about a mathematician who found reoccurring fractal patterns in nature. This is an amazing topic to look into if you have the time, but whether or not you understand fractal patterns in nature, you can still enjoy and understand this picture:

The Universe set to scale

This is quite an interesting image of our Universe set to scale. It is pretty incomprehensible to say the least when you look at the size of large stars as compared to our sun. This is an older image but one that is worth sharing.
