Sun-like stars have for the first time been found to harbour super-Earths – rocky planets larger than Earth but smaller than ice giants like Neptune. What a great way to begin looking towards the future. Although we didn't quite make it to Stanley Kubricks vision we have come pretty far! I think it is very exciting that we are really finding other planets out there orbiting other stars...the future implications of this could be astounding!
